About Ruhangaroyi Sostine

In the quiet hills of Rushaga, Uganda, a bright-eyed boy named Ruhangariyo Sostine dreams of a life filled with learning, laughter, and hope. At just 11 years old, Sostine already carries a heart full of determination and a spirit too big for the tiny village of Nyamatsinda, where he lives with his parents and five siblings.

Sostine’s world is simple yet beautiful. His father, Buzihere Innocent, works hard as a cleaner, and his mother, Kebirungi Immaculate, tends to the land as a peasant farmer. They do everything they can to provide for Sostine and his siblings, Akampurira Alex, Asiimwe Alan, Kemigisha Sikora, Ampere Jackline, Ngabirano Victor, and Byomuhangi Ronald. However, life is challenging, and opportunities are scarce.

Despite the challenges, Sostine’s smile lights up every corner of his village. When he’s not helping at home or studying at Heart 2 Heart Nursery School, the small school built close enough for children like him, he can be found riding his beloved handmade wooden bicycle, racing joyfully along dusty paths, dreaming of all the places he might one day go.

Everyone calls him by his nickname, Kadyongo, a name that brings laughter and affection wherever he goes. His friends admire his kindness, his teachers praise his hard work, and his family holds onto the hope that education will open doors for him that they never had the chance to walk through.

But Sostine’s future is uncertain. Without help, continuing his education could slip beyond his family's reach. They work tirelessly, yet often have to choose between meeting their basic needs and covering school expenses.
